Robert J. McGuire Jr., 59, native of Wilkes-Barre and former resident of Whitehall, died September 3 from an apparent heart attack. Born December 29, 1944, he was a son of Robert J. McGuire of Wilkes-Barre and Rosemary Rehill Nichols of Scranton. He was a graduate of Kennett Square High School and attended Pennsylvania Military College. Robert served in the Air Force with the military police and doghandler for Pease Air Base in New Hampshire, as well in combat in Tan San Neut Air Base, Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant.

Survivors: In addition to his parents; stepmother, Dolores McGuire of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Patricia Martin and Mary Rose Moran, both of Scranton; sons, Timothy and Jeremy; daughter, Amanda Ross; long time companion, Judy Miller of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews.

Services: memorial, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.

Interment, St. Marys Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
